WINNING CONDITIONS

In addition to owning 1 Golden Star badge (earned by winning a Challenge round), the player must successfully travel to and place their colored token on all of the following provinces/cities by correctly answering the corresponding question cards:

  • 1 province in the Red River Delta with a Group 1 tile

  • 1 province in the North Central Coast or Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region with a Group 2 tile

  • 1 province in the South Central Coast with a Group 3 tile

  • 1 province in the Central Highlands with a Group 4 tile

  • 1 province in the Southeast or Mekong Delta with a Group 3 tile

  • 1 province in the South Central Coast with a Group 4 tile

  • 1 province in the Red River Delta with a Group 5 tile


SPECIAL PRIVILEGE

If a player lands on a province/city within the region where the ethnic group they represent resides, they receive a special privilege (usable only once per game):

  • Confiscate 2 province/city flags from another player and return them to the bank, OR

  • Convert 1 province/city flag owned by another player into their own.

ETHNIC GROUP INFORMATION

Origins: The Kinh are the indigenous majority ethnic group of Vietnam, with a long-established presence across the country.


Traditional Social Structure

  • Community Life: Traditionally live in villages, governed by strict village regulations (lệ làng).

  • Family: Patriarchal structure, though women often manage family finances and household affairs.


Religious Beliefs and Practices:

  • Ancestor worship is central.

  • Reverence is also paid to Land Deities (Thổ Công), Kitchen Gods (Táo Quân), and Earth Gods (Ông Địa).

  • Some communities follow organized religions such as Catholicism, Protestantism, Cao Đài, and Hòa Hảo.


Festivals and Traditions:

Key celebrations include: Tết (Lunar New Year), Spring Festivals, First Full Moon (Rằm Tháng Giêng), Thanh Minh, Plowing Festival (Hạ Điền), Harvest Festival (Thượng Điều), Đoan Ngọ, Ghost Festival (Rằm Tháng Bảy), Mid-Autumn Festival (Trung Thu), and New Rice Ceremony (Lễ Cơm Mới).


Marriage Customs:

Marriage emphasizes faithful love and follows the traditional four-step process: Proposal (Dạm) → Engagement (Hỏi) → Wedding (Cưới) → Return visit (Lại mặt).


Traditional Attire:

  • Northern style: Brown short blouse (áo cánh) and straight-leg pants

  • Southern style: Similar outfit in black

  • Ceremonial attire: Long dress (áo dài) during festivals and formal occasions


Cuisine:

Common dishes include: Steamed rice, herbal tea, vegetable soup, crab soup, fish sauce, pickles. Holiday meals often feature: Bánh chưng, bánh tét, pickled onions, pickled scallions, jellied pork, spring rolls, pork sausages, sticky rice, boiled chicken, bamboo shoot soup, and rice wine.


Traditional Housing:

  • Ground-level houses with three or five compartments.

  • The central space is for the ancestral altar, while side compartments are used for living and storage.

  • Kitchen areas are often located near livestock pens.
