WINNING CONDITIONS

In addition to possessing 1 Golden Star badge (earned by winning a Challenge round), players must successfully travel to and place their colored token on all of the following locations by answering questions from the cards corresponding to each province/city:

  • 1 province in the Midland and Northern Mountainous Region or Red River Delta with a Group 1 tile

  • 1 province in the South Central Coast with a Group 2 tile

  • 1 province in the Southeast region with a Group 3 tile

  • 1 province in the Central Highlands with a Group 4 tile

  • Quảng Ninh province

  • Bắc Giang province


SPECIAL PRIVILEGE

If a player lands on a province that is part of the homeland of their assigned ethnic group, they gain a one-time special privilege, which can be used only once per game:

  • Confiscate 2 province flags from any other player and return them to the bank, or

  • Convert 1 province flag of another player into your own flag.

ETHNIC GROUP INFORMATION

Origins and History: The Sán Chay people migrated from China to Vietnam between the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, approximately 300–500 years ago. They settled in the Northeastern regions of Vietnam, contributing significantly to the cultural diversity of the area.


Religion and Beliefs

  • Worship of various deities and ancestors

  • Simple altars often made from bamboo tubes to hold incense sticks

  • Before Lunar New Year: clean the home and decorate the altar with red paper


Arts and Culture

  • Distinctive folk art forms include:

    • Sình ca (romantic folk songs), drum dances, shrimp-catching dances, and fish-stabbing dances

  • Musical instruments: gongs (thanh la), cymbals (não bạt), drums, and bamboo reed pipes (khèn ống nứa)


Traditional Attire

  • Women: Dark indigo skirts, long embroidered blouses, square headscarves in deep indigo

  • Men: Short or long dark indigo shirts with brown or white trousers


Cuisine

  • Staples: Glutinous rice, regular rice, maize, cassava, sweet potatoes

  • Common dishes: Cakes, noodles

  • Habits: Men often smoke pipe tobacco; women chew betel


Housing

  • Stilt houses or semi-stilt, semi-ground homes

  • Structures include separate areas for sleeping, livestock, and rice pounding tools
