WINNING CONDITIONS

In addition to owning 1 Golden Star badge (obtained by winning a Challenge round), the player must successfully move to and place their colored token on all of the following locations by correctly answering the questions on the corresponding province/city cards:

  • Hà Giang Province

  • 1 province/city in either the Northern Midland and Mountainous Region or the Southeast Region with a Group 2 tile

  • 1 province/city in the Mekong Delta Region with a Group 3 tile

  • 1 province/city in the South Central Coast Region with a Group 4 tile

  • 1 province/city in either the Northern Midland and Mountainous Region or the Southeast Region with a Group 5 tile


SPECIAL PRIVILEGE

If a player lands on a province/city that belongs to the residential area of the ethnic group they represent, they are granted a special privilege (only ONCE during the entire game):

  • Confiscate 2 province/city flags of any other player from the board and return them to the bank, OR

  • Convert 1 province/city flag of another player into their own.

ETHNIC GROUP INFORMATION:

  • Origins & History: The Pu Péo ethnic group has lived in Hà Giang Province since before the 18th century. Other groups arrived later, around the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

  • Social Structure: The village leader is an elder with high prestige, responsible for managing community affairs and presiding over spiritual ceremonies.

  • Religion & Beliefs: The Pu Péo worldview includes a three-tier universe: the sky, the earth’s surface, and the underworld. They believe that each person possesses 8 souls and 9 spirits.

  • Rituals & Ceremonies: Key ceremonies include:

    • Forest deity worship

    • Field preparation rituals

    • Pest-prevention rituals

    • New rice celebrations

    • First meal of the new harvest offering

Folk Beliefs: Practices such as selecting land for housing, construction rituals, and housewarming ceremonies are spiritually significant.


Traditional Attire:

  • Women: Wear long black shirts, camisoles, and skirts made from a patchwork of colorful fabrics. Hair is styled into buns held by wooden combs, and they wear square headscarves with vivid patterns.

  • Men: Wear indigo- or blue-dyed shirts, black pants, long tunics below the knees, wide sleeves, and self-stitched black fabric shoes with bark soles.


Cuisine:

  • Main dishes: Rice, boiled and stir-fried dishes, soup, and smoked pork hung above the kitchen hearth

  • Beverages: Herbal drinks and corn wine brewed with herbal yeast


Housing:

They believe in the concept of "điền trạch" — that the success or failure of a family depends heavily on the land they live on.
