WINNING CONDITIONS

In addition to possessing 1 Golden Star badge (earned by winning a Challenge round), players must successfully move (place their colored token) to all of the following locations by answering question cards corresponding to each province/city:

  • The provinces of Điện Biên, Lai Châu, and Lào Cai

  • 1 province in the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region (excluding Điện Biên, Lai Châu, Lào Cai) with a Group 3 tile

  • 1 province in both the North Central Coast and Central Highlands with a Group 2 tile

  • 1 province in both the Red River Delta and the Mekong River Delta with a Group 5 tile


SPECIAL PRIVILEGE

If a player lands on a province/city within the traditional homeland of their represented ethnic group, they may receive a special privilege (only once per game):

  • Confiscate 2 province/city flags from another player and return them to the bank, OR

  • Convert 1 flag of another player on the board into their own.

ETHNIC GROUP INFORMATION: Hà Nhì People

Historical Origins: The Hà Nhì people underwent a long migration journey through various regions and countries before settling in Vietnam around 300 years ago.


Family Structure:

Patrilineal system – inheritance and lineage are passed down through the father’s line.


Cuisine:

Their diet includes rice, stir-fried or stewed dishes, and vegetable soups. Notably, they do not use salt when boiling food.


Festivals:

The Hà Nhì celebrate their New Year in early October (lunar calendar). Other major festivals include the New Rice Celebration and traditional spiritual ceremonies.


Beliefs:

They practice animism, believing in spirits of nature. They hold sacred rituals such as:

  • Water Spirit Worship

  • Forest Spirit Worship

  • The Khô Già Già Festival – praying for harvest

  • The Gà Tu Tu Ceremony – driving away evil spirits and protecting the community


Traditional Attire:

  • Men wear wide-legged pants and shirts.

  • Women (Hà Nhì Đen) wear knee-length indigo tunics and dark headscarves.

  • Women (Hà Nhì Hoa) wear double-layered garments decorated with floral patterns.


Housing:

Hà Nhì houses are built with thick earthen walls, short sloped roofs, and usually include a veranda used for welcoming guests and drinking tea.
