WINNING CONDITIONS

In addition to owning 1 Golden Star badge (earned by winning a Challenge round), the player must successfully move to and place their colored token on all of the following regions by correctly answering the questions on the corresponding province/city cards:

  • 1 province/city in the Southeast Region with a Group 1 tile

  • 1 province/city in the Northern Midland and Mountainous Region with a Group 2 tile

  • 1 province/city in the Mekong Delta Region with a Group 3 tile

  • 1 province/city in the Central Highlands with a Group 4 tile

  • 1 province/city in the Red River Delta with a Group 5 tile


SPECIAL PRIVILEGE

If a player lands on a province/city that belongs to the residential area of the ethnic group they represent, they are granted a special privilege (only ONCE during the game):

  • Confiscate 2 province/city flags from any other player on the board and return them to the bank, OR

  • Convert 1 province/city flag of another player into their own.

ETHNIC GROUP INFORMATION: THE HOA PEOPLE (Người Hoa)

  • Historical Origins: The Hoa people (ethnic Chinese) began migrating to Vietnam between the 16th century and the first half of the 20th century, bringing with them a vibrant culture.

  • Social Structure: Small nuclear families depend on the elderly. Each village often has a clan leader (tộc trưởng) who plays an important role in communal life.

  • Worship Practices: They practice ancestor worship and worship guardian deities in temples and shrines.

  • Written Language: They teach and study Chinese characters (Han script).

  • Traditional Arts: They perform “sơn ca” folk songs and engage in various traditional folk art activities.


Traditional Attire:

  • Women: Wear high-collar blouses in pink or red (qipao-style), often with plentiful jewelry.

  • Men: Prefer black or blue shirts with pockets, and commonly wear gold-capped teeth.


Cuisine:

Their meals often include rice, stir-fried noodles, and hủ tiếu (rice noodle soup). Breakfast might consist of plain rice porridge with salted duck eggs. They also drink herbal tonics and enjoy dishes with bamboo shoots, mushrooms, and insects.


Housing:

They live in villages, typically in stone or brick houses roofed with curved tiles or bamboo leaves.
