WINNING CONDITIONS

In addition to owning 1 Golden Star badge (earned by winning a Challenge round), players must successfully travel to and place their token on all of the following locations by answering the corresponding province/city question cards:

  • Đắk Lắk Province

  • 1 province in both the Central Highlands and Mekong Delta with a Group 2 tile

  • 1 province in both the Northern Midlands & Mountains and North Central Coast with a Group 3 tile

  • 1 province in both the Central Highlands and South Central Coast with a Group 5 tile


SPECIAL PRIVILEGE

If a player lands on a province/city within the traditional homeland of their represented ethnic group, they receive a special privilege (only once per game):

  • Confiscate 2 province/city flags from any opponent and return them to the bank, OR

  • Convert 1 opponent’s flag on the board into their own.

ETHNIC GROUP INFORMATION

Historical Origins: The Ê Đê have lived in the Central and South Central Highlands for generations. Their origins are believed to be linked to island cultures, reflected in their epics and boat-shaped architecture.


Festivals & Rituals:

They celebrate the New Year in the 12th lunar month, hold rice deity ceremonies, and festivals to mark the harvest.


Spiritual Beliefs:

They worship Aê Điê and Aê Ðu (Creator Gods), as well as earth spirits and rice spirits.


Social Structure:

They follow a matrilineal system, where marriages typically involve the husband living with the wife’s family.


Funerals:

They practice grave abandonment ceremonies (lễ bỏ mả) and lineage continuation rituals.


Cultural Arts:

Their rich oral traditions include epic storytelling (kể khan), dialogue singing, and the performance of gong music.


Traditional Attire:

  • Women wear long wrap skirts or short pullover blouses.

  • Men wear loincloths and short-sleeved tops.

  • Both wear beaded necklaces, bronze bracelets, and torque-style jewelry.

  • Blackened teeth and ear-stretching are traditional practices.


Cuisine:

Their meals include rice cooked in clay pots, meat, fish, and wild game, accompanied by rượu cần (fermented rice wine sipped through long bamboo straws).


Housing:

They live in long stilt houses, shaped like boats, divided into the Gah (communal space) and Ôk (private family space).
