WINNING CONDITIONS

In addition to possessing 1 Golden Star badge (earned by winning in the Challenge round), the Player must successfully move (place a colored token) to all the following areas by correctly answering questions on the question cards corresponding to the provinces/cities:

  • Nghệ An Province

  • 1 province/city belonging to the Southeast Region and Mekong Delta with a group 2 space

  • 1 province/city belonging to the Red River Delta with a group 4 space

  • 1 province/city belonging to the Northern Midland and Mountainous Region with a group 5 space


SPECIAL PRIVILEGES

If the Player lands on a province/city that is the native area of the ethnic group they represent, the Player receives a special privilege (only granted ONCE during the entire game):

  • Confiscate 2 province/city markers of any other Player from the board and return them to the bank OR

  • Convert 1 province/city marker of another Player into their own marker

ETHNIC GROUP INFORMATION

Origin: Have lived for a very long time in the two districts of Tương Dương and Kỳ Sơn, Nghệ An Province


Social relations:Live intermingled with the Khơ Mú and Thái peoples; clan organizations are vague; take surnames from the Thái and Lào peoples. Women do not inherit property; the custom of "ở rể" (living with the wife's family) is common.


Worship: Believe that when someone dies, their soul becomes a ghost. The household ghost stays with descendants for only one generation; altars are simple.


Festivals: Celebrate the Lunar New Year (Tết Nguyên Đán) and the New Rice Festival (Tết cơm mới). The biggest festival is the Thunder Sound Festival, which involves slaughtering buffalo, cows, and pigs for celebration.


Performing arts: Use musical instruments of the Khơ Mú and Thái peoples such as flutes, mouth organs (khèn), gongs, and drums; perform Khơ Mú and Thái folk songs and tell historical stories.


Clothing: Modernized, following styles of the Thái and Vietnamese in the region. Traditional costumes are rarely used.


Cuisine: Typically have one breakfast and two main meals a day, usually eating sticky rice and regular rice; during poor harvests, eat tubers like yam, taro, cassava, and corn. Enjoy drinking rice wine and smoking pipe tobacco.


Housing: Previously lived in stilt houses facing the mountain, but this style no longer exists. Today, live in stilt houses similar to those of the Thái people.
