WINNING CONDITIONS

In addition to owning 1 Golden Star badge (earned by winning in the Challenge round), the player must successfully move (place a colored token) to all the following areas by correctly answering questions on question cards related to the corresponding provinces/cities:

  • Quang Ngai province

  • 1 province/city in the Red River Delta and South Central Coast regions with a level 1 group space

  • 1 province/city in the North Central Coast and Southeast regions with a level 2 group space

  • 1 province/city in the Central Highlands region with a level 3 group space


SPECIAL PRIVILEGES

If the player lands on a province/city that belongs to the ethnic group area they represent, they receive a special privilege (can only be claimed ONCE per game):

  • Confiscate 2 province/city tokens from any other player on the board and return them to the bank, OR

  • Convert 1 province/city token belonging to another player into their own token.

ETHNIC GROUP INFORMATION

Origin and history: This group has long been settled in the Truong Son – Central Highlands region. Their history may be linked to a great flood and migration processes.


Traditional social structure: Live in villages (bon/bòn), led by a village chief (cà rá, Kan plây). The community is communal but includes social stratification and a system of servitude.


Religion and beliefs: Believe in the existence of spirits and village ghosts (goong kieesk chók). Worship gods (Yang) and ancestors. Their religion is polytheistic.


Musical instruments: Gongs, bells, drums, bamboo tube instruments, flutes, two-string fiddles (nhị), jaw harps, percussion tubes.


Marriage: Primarily endogamous within the group and exogamous within clans.


Festivals: Many rituals such as slash-and-burn cultivation ceremonies, ancestor worship (vaha), seasonal festivals, New Year festival (htend), buffalo stabbing ceremony, and other agricultural rites.


Clothing: Men wear long loincloths; women wear five-piece bodices and long skirts.


Cuisine: Eat regular rice and sticky rice during festivals. Enjoy drinking communal rice wine and often brew it themselves. Commonly chew betel and smoke.


Housing: Long houses and stilt houses built along sloping hillsides.
