WINNING CONDITIONS

In addition to possessing one Golden Star badge (earned by winning a Challenge round), players must successfully move (by placing their colored token) to all of the following areas by correctly answering questions from the corresponding province/city cards:

  • Lâm Đồng Province and Đồng Nai Province

  • One province in the Red River Delta or North Central Region with a Group 2 space

  • One province in the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region or South Central Coastal Region with a Group 3 space


SPECIAL PRIVILEGE

Suppose a player lands on a province/city located in the traditional living area of the ethnic group they are representing. In that case, they gain a special privilege (usable only ONCE during the entire game):

  • Confiscate 2 province/city flags of another player from the board and return them to the bankOR

  • Convert 1 province/city flag of another player into their own

ETHNIC GROUP PROFILE

Origin & History: An ethnic minority with a long-standing presence in the southern Central Highlands of Vietnam.


Belief System: Polytheistic; they conduct buffalo-stabbing ceremonies to pray for good fortune.


Traditional Instruments: A set of 6 bronze gongs, drums, bamboo xylophones, gourds with reeds, and jaw harps.


Culture: Rich in oral traditions such as legends, folktales, folk songs, and dances (yal yau), as well as gong ensembles, B’Đạ lithophones, and epic poetry.


Social Structure: The village is the highest unit of organization. The village chief leads rituals and ceremonies.


Marriage Customs: Patrilineal extended families; marriage between relatives closer than the third generation is forbidden. After marriage, the husband lives with the wife’s family and must pay a bride price.


Calendar: Lunar calendar-based timekeeping.


Traditional Attire: Men wear loincloths; women wear body-fitting long dresses.


Cuisine

  • Dishes: Cơm lam (bamboo tube rice), canh thụt (bitter vegetable soup), grilled lá nhíp leaves, rattan shoots, smoked meat, and rượu cần (fermented rice wine drunk through straws).

  • Customs: Communal eating, diverse food spreads, and eating by hand.


Housing: Longhouses accommodating 20–30 households; new sections are added as new families form; no partitions between living spaces.
