WINNING CONDITIONS

In addition to possessing one Golden Star badge (earned by winning a Challenge round), the player must successfully move (by placing a colored token) to all of the following areas by correctly answering questions on the cards corresponding to these provinces/cities:

  • Kon Tum Province

  • One province in the Central Highlands with a Group 1 tile

  • One province in the Southeast Region with a Group 2 tile

  • One province in the South Central Coast with a Group 3 tile

  • One province in either the Mekong Delta or North Central Coast with a Group 4 tile


SPECIAL PRIVILEGE

If a player lands on a province/city in the region where their represented ethnic group resides, they gain a special privilege (only ONCE per game):

  • Either confiscate 2 province/city markers from any other player on the board and return them to the bank OR

  • Convert 1 province/city marker of another player into their own

ETHNIC GROUP INFORMATION

  • History and Migration: The Xơ-Đăng people have long lived in the Northern Central Highlands. Between 1855 and 1885, during the French consolidation of power in Indochina and rising conflicts among highland tribes, the Xơ-Đăng expanded their territory into neighboring tribal lands.

  • Traditional Social Structure: Villages (plơi), village elders, extended families (On vêă), and nuclear families (Kla on vêă).

  • Religion and Beliefs: Polytheistic and animistic beliefs with concepts of three types of souls (mhoa con xoang, mhoa plo, mhoa mngô mnghiêng).

  • Musical Instruments: T’rưng xylophone, lô lé flute, ga vố, percussive pipe khèn, brung monochord, and bróoc tru.

  • Festivals: Buffalo Stabbing Festival (Ka Pô), New Rice Festival, Water Source Worship, and New Year Celebration.

  • Clothing: Includes shirts (ao goh), skirts (ktắc), shoulder cloths (khăn vai), headscarves (trăng), and loincloths (kpen tích).

  • Cuisine: Consists of various types of rice (plain, sticky, glutinous), meals are communal, often held in the nhà rông (communal house).

  • Housing: Stilt houses made of wood, roofed with thatch or leaves, divided into multiple compartments.
